Last week I told you about how the kids in children's church wanted to worship with paint again. It had been a while. Well, today Joy was found! My world is brighter and ever more beautiful. I only wish everyone in big people church could have been with us...and you, too, for that matter. We talked about how important it is to keep praying, about God's answers- and how since He loves us more than anyone, He hears and answers our prayers in His perfect timing since He knows what is best for us. We talked about "asking" prayers and compared them to thanking prayers. -And then came the color! Want to join in?
Close your eyes and imagine a world that is just black and white and some gray. (To which one student said 'That's how it was in the old days. My dad told me.')
This world would be so sad. But God loved us so much He gave us color- LOTS!
Think of your favorite color. Picture it. Why is it your favorite? What does the color remind you of?
Green for the beautiful grass.
Pink for clouds at sunset and roses.
Yellow for sunflowers, my absolute favorite!
Blue for Thomas the train? And blue skies and the ocean... and eyes.
Purple for gorillas? And irises -my favorite!
Red for the blood of Jesus (Oh they do get it!)
We taped a cross to a canvas and then blobbed on paint along with our thankfulness... Can this be more fun?
Maybe. We took the canvas outside and threw water balloons at it!
We brought it in and cleaned it up. Of course everything is better with glitter- I guess it's the glow of giving thanks.
God is good. He gave us color and so much more. So what is your favorite color and what does it remind you of? Please share and I will be thanking Him with you.
Now go color your world!
