So as Christmas recedes and the hearts and flowers emerge with a hint of Spring in the air, I cannot help but want to clear out the old. Many of you know that I complete a painting a day. It started out as a one year challenge, but now as I approach two years of consecutive painting, you can well imagine the art is beginning to pile up.
Can I just take a minute of this blog to pour out my heart? I am truly not good at selling. I wish that I could crawl inside my studio and do nothing but paint. I would gladly hand my work over to a willing soul to sell for me and split the proceeds. But here I sit. With my local gallery now closed, and New York, Paris and Miami... well... far off- what to do? If anyone has any brilliant ideas or suggestions, I am eagerly seeking and would LOVE advice.
For now, during the month of February I decided to re-open my Etsy shop and give it a real try. I will be listing curated collections of art, every day or two, having individual, original pieces up for a limited time. When you share my art on Facebook, I will include you in a drawing for a painting. (Some of you may know that I already do this...) I love that you "like" it -I love it even more when you SHARE my work with your friends. Of course, if you see a painting you want, and a few days later it disappears, you can always contact me. It may just be rented out temporarily, and I probably also have it available in a print or a greeting card. (Or on a t-shirt, or tote bag, or refrigerator magnet...) Anyway, it's a nice excuse to connect and chat!
So be on the lookout. I'll share collections of vineyard paintings, miniatures, encaustics...varying sizes, mediums and price ranges starting with a collection of some of my favorite beach pastels. Thanks always for your love, support and encouragement.
