I could probably sift through my blogs from a couple of years ago and find the one where I first hinted of a show of this nature. I clearly remember discussing this during my show at The Journey Center. And my friend, Kim started talking about using her place for an art show well over a year ago. God popped that idea in my head so long ago, and so when I finally said yes to Him, how could I be anything less than joyful? To watch the pieces fall in place, or rather orchestrated by a God who cares...
I was given the most beautiful venue for the event- my lovely friend, Kim opened up her home and gardens, and even brought out her power tools, happy smile, and unwavering can-do spirit. She called on friends, Cindy, Tanni, Cathy, Tanna, Dana and Debbie to help. And my sweet Annie and Kaitlin jumped into the fun! Wow! I am so loved.
Over this long period of this idea germinating, God placed eight groups on my heart. He gave me a longing to do something. He helped me to look outside, to notice and to care. I know first hand that it can be so easy to look past those in need, to assume others will take care of it, to figure that I'm just a mom or just one person... or otherwise inadequate. Easy, yes, but it can also be empty. I pray for a heart of Jesus. I want to have His compassion. I want to step out in faith. I truly thank God for the days I inch closer to this.
800Blessings intent was to bless people through my art, as well as some worthy causes. (You can read about them in past postings.) In actuality, it blessed me more than anything. The family, old friends and new who came, who encouraged, and who loved- It's just like hugs from Heaven to me. Thank you all so very much.
