Being relatively new to remodeling- especially a historic old home, all I can liken it to is this: You know when you clean a section of your home perfectly (yeah- quit laughing, those who know me!) and then whatever is next to it looks shabby, so you do that too, and then there is one more area...and so on. Well that is this house. I keep doing one improvement after the next, but then find myself in way to deep. Thanking God for the friends He sends to my rescue! Two of my dear friends, Kristy and Darren, (Jump over to their new website! They are amazing!) have helped so much on projects that are far more complex then I thought them to be. Installing overhead lighting would be much easier if it included the proper size of hardware. The over range microwave that is suppose to just be "interchangeable" is off by 1/4". Yikes. Time to buy a new drill bit that goes through tile!
We ripped off baseboard. This seemed simple enough. But I kind of forgot that I would need a truck to bring in the new baseboard. It doesn't fit in my baby Kia. And then there is a matter of having a saw to cut it... and a protractor for those not quite square corners... and a brain that can do math. Help!
Here is when the floors started looking good!
But look at that baseboard!
thanking God for dear friends and strong sons, and reminding myself that it will all be worth it.
