Lately I've been baking up a storm. Fine art, meet Shrink art! I guess I'm embracing my childhood. I have always loved "shrinky-dink" plastic. A few years back, I started experimenting with oils and oil pastels on this plastic. I wasn't sure what would happen in the baking process, but for the most part, it's working.
If you've ever played with this stuff, you may recall that in the baking process, the plastic curls up and then flattens out again- which has, at times, had devastating effects on the art. Abstract, maybe? Generally, it all goes without a hitch and the piece goes from maybe a 5"X7" to a 2"X3" or smaller, detail in tact, color intensified.
I think what my customers like best about them, is that even if one's wall space is currently committed, there is always some little nook to place a miniature painting. ...The perfect gift!
If you are interested in purchasing one of these original pieces, they are priced between $15-$35. Please contact me directly for availability- or to make a request. I will joyfully paint "commissioned" pieces just for you for the holidays!
And the cookies? Sorry boys! I'll try to have some baked when you get home from college! Love You!
